Webinar Details
Low carbon procurement is a key policy enabler for industrial decarbonisation. Foundational for this are definitions for low carbon products. The members of GCCA, in consultation with a wide group of stakeholders and global initiatives, and using the International Energy Agency cement definitions as a robust starting point, have developed such definitions for cement and concrete.
This webinar explains the reasons behind the fundamental choices that have shaped these definitions. It also explains how they can be adapted and adopted in countries and/or at regional level to set appropriate decarbonization procurement targets according to the local decarbonization progress already achieved, as well as key opportunities and challenges that exist. Whilst the definitions have been widely shared in 2024 over the course of consultation, this event sees the launch of the definitions.
